We get this question asked several times a day. I can share some guide lines. Bagless vacuums need servicing the most. Why?  Because their filtration is the worst and the amount of debris and fine dust that is stored in the vacuum is the greatest. So if you don’t get them cleaned out and replace the filters regularly you are just spewing the pollutants back into your homes air for you and your children to breath. So we suggest at least once a year for bagless. Bagged machines can go longer depending on your home and what you vacuum. If you vacuum a  lot of pet hair, than at least every 18months to two years. However change the belt at least once a year! Believe it or not the cheaper the vacuum the more they need servicing because they do the worst job of trapping the allergens, dust and grime. The better the vacuum the less servicing and cleaning it needs. The German made Miele’s do such a great job of keeping the debris out of the vacuum system they really only need cleaning every two to three years. Likewise for the USA made Riccar vacuums.
